Micro Imagery

With support from Dr. Erwin Huebner from the Department of Biology at the University of Manitoba, various forms of bacterial cellulose (live, frozen, dry, and rehydrated) and mycelium (live and dead) were examined at a microscopic level. Analyzing samples at different magnifications gave a clearer understanding of their structure and potential applications. Microscopic imagery of bacterial cellulose samples revealed the growth and alignment of fibers in a striated pattern, whereas mycelium exhibited a dense and layered network of fungal fibers.
